A reset & a restart…

I just came back from the Online Learning Consortium (OLC) 2019 Accelerate conference in Orlando, FL, where I presented a session titled “What Students Want: Taking Instructional Design in Graduate Online Courses Beyond Best Practices, Principles, and Standards.” It was great to have interested, expert audience (over 50 people!), and I want to say thank you to everyone who attended.

When I was in Orlando, talking to people, and being asked for the information related to my presentation, made me miss having an old-fashioned blog, an online “home” for  ideas, where I could post musings on teaching/learning-related things I do, read, and work on professionally.

For years, I used to have a personal, very eclectic blog which I hosted on Squarespace; then I started working at a University that had its own instance of WordPress, so I used that, and of course it all disappeared when I moved on to a new job…

This “new” job which I have now had for more than half a decade, and this thing called life, have kept me quite busy, and somehow I didn’t feel the urge to blog. But last week, in Orlando, I felt like I needed to have an online presence, and not just an eclectic “personal” blog, but rather a space for ideas related to my long-time interest in teaching and learning, that I can point people to, so that we can stay in touch.

So this is it – a reset, and a restart of my blog, more focused than before. We’ll see where it takes me…
